I know you sensed something didn’t add up with him, and you looked the other way. You see the best in people, and this is something I love about you. Please don’t let run ins with bad people ever take away your optimism.
I know you tell friends that terrible situations make great stories, but I know that sometimes bad things can leave a person feeling small and used. You’re strong, and you do a great job of showing others you’re unaffected by these things, but I want you to know that it’s okay to lean on others sometimes. It’s okay to show your pain. There’s strength in tears and in addressing the things I know have been troubling you.
I’m so sorry that he didn’t prove you wrong. Sometimes bad people come into our lives, and our trust gets shaken. And I don’t really know why it happens. But I want you to know that you did not deserve what happened to you. I know it might take some time to trust others again, but please, please know that you have people who love you, who will be here with listening ears whenever you’re ready to talk.
